Travel to Chinchero
We will leave Cusco for the Chinchero plateau.

The first transfer lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the traffic.
Chinchero textile centre
Upon arrival we will visit a textile center managed by local families.

Archaeological Park of Chinchero
We will continue to the archaeological area of Chinchero.

Due to altitude, some people can breathe faster even without intense effort.
Transfer to the Salineras de Maras
After Chinchero we will continue to Maras.
The road crosses agricultural areas and rural roads. In dry season dust can be lifted; during the rains mud, fog and small delays may appear.
The vehicle descends down a curved road towards the Salineras.
Salineras de Maras
The Salineras are made up of numerous stepped pools on a hillside.
Salt water is distributed through small channels. After staying in the pools and evaporating, leave crystals that are collected and classified.
The production is linked to families of Maras and Pichingoto.
The sightseeing tour is from the authorized sectors. Walking between the pools is not always allowed due to conservation measures and product protection.
