Itinerary
: Lima, Ballestas Islands, Ica and Huacachina winery
The highlight of the day: navigation in front of the marine fauna and tour of the dunes of Huacachina.
The departure from Lima is made early by tourist transport to Paracas. The route follows the South Pan-American Highway and allows you to observe how the urban area is giving way to the arid landscape of the coast.
In Paracas you will board a boat with a life jacket to sail to the Ballestas Islands. The maritime circuit travels approximately 21.4 kilometers and usually lasts about an hour and forty minutes between return and return.
During the navigation you can see colonies of sea lions and coastal birds. Wildlife watching depends on the climate, season, waves and behavior of animals. The vessel does not land on the islands, as they are part of a protected area.
From the sea you can also see the Candelabro, a figure drawn on a sandy hillside. The wind can feel strong, especially during the displacement of the boat, so it is advisable to wear a light jacket.
Then you will continue by road to Ica. In a local winery you will know part of the process of making wine and pisco and you will participate in a tasting. People who do not drink alcohol may apply for a non-alcoholic alternative.
The day continues in Huacachina. There you will board a tubular vehicle to enter the dunes. The tour includes ascents, descents and stops to practice sandboarding.
