Go through the different stages of Lima in a single day

Lima is not understood by looking only at its Plaza Mayor. To understand it you have to go through a pre-Inca adobe construction, walk between viceroyal balconies, go down to ancient crypts and end up facing the Pacific Ocean.

The City Tour Lima Colonial y Moderna connects three stages of the capital: the pre-Hispanic Lima represented by the Huaca Pucllana, the Historic Center built on the ancient City of the Kings and the contemporary districts of San Isidro, Miraflores and Barranco.

With Peceros Agency Travel, you will have coordinated pick-up, tour transport, guide and tickets indicated in the program. The route prevents you from having to arrange several transfers through a city where traffic can consume much of the day.

For four or five hours you will observe how ceremonial adobe buildings, churches, republican squares, oceanfront shopping centers and streets linked to urban art coexist.

It is a route of low physical demand, although it includes walks, stairs and sectors with quite a pedestrian movement. Each stop provides a different piece to understand why Lima has so many layers and contrasts.

Highlights

  • Watch the Huaca Pucllana from the outside, a ceremonial adobe construction that proves that the history of Lima began many centuries before the Spanish arrival.
  • Meet the district of San Isidro, where business buildings, residential housing and green areas coexist around one of the most organized urban sectors of the capital.
  • It passes next to the El Olivar Forest, a space with centuries-old olive trees, lagoons and trails that offers a visual break within a modern area of Lima.
  • It crosses representative avenues of the city, while the guide explains how Lima grew from its colonial center to the coastal districts.
  • Walk through the Plaza San Martín, surrounded by republican buildings that show a different stage to the viceregal architecture of the Plaza Mayor.
  • Observe closed wooden balconies, stone covers, patios and facades that are part of the urban landscape of the Historic Center.
