Itinerary
Lima – Paracas – Ballestas Islands – Ica – Huacachina – Nazca
The highlight of the day: navigation in front of the marine fauna, tasting in a winery of Ica and night arrival in Nazca.
Meeting points in Lima
The passenger must be present at the chosen point before the indicated time:
- 4:30 a.m.: in front of the Municipality of Los Olivos.
- 5:00 a.m.: Larcomar, in front of the Marriott Hotel in Miraflores.
- 5:20 a.m.: Avenida Aviación 2410–2420, near the crossing with Javier Prado.
- 5:30 a.m.: whereabouts Proceres, only with prior coordination.
- 5:40 a.m.: departure to Paracas.
Points and schedules must be reconfirmed the day before. The vehicle does not wait for passengers who arrive late, since the navigation has an assigned schedule.
During the trip a light box lunch will be delivered with fruit and cookies. It is advisable to bring water and an additional snack.
Navigation through the Ballestas Islands
The arrival in Paracas is scheduled at approximately 10:00 a.m.
The group will head to El Chaco Pier to board a shared vessel. Before leaving, the staff will provide a life jacket and explain the basic safety rules.
The boat advances first in front of the Paracas Candlestick and then towards the Ballestas Islands.
The islands are part of a marine protected area and are home to species relevant to conservation. The area can be toured year-round and has a predominantly dry climate.
During the journey you can observe:
- Marine wolves.
- Peruvian pelicans.
- Humboldt penguins.
It does not land on the islands. The observation is made from the boat to avoid altering the colonies of fauna.
The sea can produce dizziness even when it seems calm. Sensitive people should consult previously about the use of medication.
Transfer to Ica and free lunch
After navigation, the group will continue by tourist transport to Ica.
The arrival is scheduled at approximately 1:00 p.m.
Lunch will be on behalf of the passenger. The guide will indicate a restaurant or an area with several options.
It is recommended to choose a light meal if you are sensitive to the movements of the bus or if you are going to take the walk in tubular.
Winery Nietto
The next stop will be a traditional Ica winery, previously linked to the Three Corners Fund.
A winery worker will explain the artisan process used to make wine and pisco.
During the tour you will be able to observe implements such as:
- Tinajas of clay.
- Huarango press.
- Traditional containers.
- Fermentation areas.
- Utensils used in production.
After the explanation there will be a tasting of products of the house, which may include:
- Pisco creams.
- Sweet drinks.
Minors and people who do not consume alcohol may apply for an alternative when available.
Huacachina Oasis
At approximately 3:00 p.m., the group will arrive in Huacachina, located about five kilometers from the center of Ica.
You will have time to walk around the lagoon, observe the palm trees and climb to the low sectors of the dunes.
The sand can be heated during the hours of greatest radiation. Wear closed shoes if you plan to walk on the slopes.
Optional Tubulars and sandboarding
The tubular ride and sandboarding are not included in the base rate.
Those who hire the activity will board a vehicle prepared to drive on the dunes. The driver will make steep climbs, curves and descents.
During the stops you can slide on a board. Beginners usually go down on their backs, as it requires less balance than standing up.
This activity is not recommended for people with:
- Recent surgeries.
- Back or neck injuries.
- Serious knee problems.
- Conditions that worsen with sudden movements.
Transfer from Ica to Nazca
At approximately 6:00 p.m., the group will be transferred to the station.
The departure of the Ica–Nazca bus is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The trip takes about two hours and thirty minutes, depending on traffic and stops.
Arrival in Nazca is estimated at 9:00 p.m.
A representative will wait in the terminal to transfer you to the selected hotel.
After check-in, you’ll have the night off. Dinner is not included.

- Duration: approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to 2 hours.
- Weather: wind, humidity and solar exposure.
- Landing on the islands: not allowed.

Flight of the Nazca Lines – Return to Lima
The highlight of the day: flight over figures drawn in the desert more than a thousand years ago.
The day starts with breakfast at the hotel.
The pick-as-a-roll time for the airfield will be communicated after the airline confirms the weather conditions and departure order.
Flights are preferably scheduled during the morning, when there is usually better visibility. However, an exact time is not guaranteed.
Registration and control before the flight
When you arrive at the airfield you must present:
- Passport or original document.
- Confirmation of the flight.
- Correct personal data.
- Body weight declared.
Weight is important because the company must distribute passengers in a balanced way within the plane.
Staff will be able to weigh each passenger before assigning the seat. People who exceed the limit set by the company may need to pay an additional seat.
You will also have to pay airport and tourist fees that are not included in the package.
Overflight of the Nazca Lines
After receiving the safety instructions, you will address a shared plane.
The pilot and the co-pilot will make right and left turns so that passengers on both sides can observe the figures.
Among the geoglyphs that are usually pointed out during the flight are:
- The whale.
- The trapezoid.
- The astronaut.
- The monkey.
- The dog.
- The hummingbird.
The exact number of visible figures depends on the authorized route, visibility and flight conditions.
The Nazca and Palpa geoglyphs cover an extensive part of the coastal plain. UNESCO says they were drawn between about 500 BC. C.
The turns can cause dizziness. Avoid heavy breakfasts and keep your eyes off the aircraft.
Free time and lunch
After the flight you will return to the hotel or the center of Nazca, depending on the operational coordination.
Lunch is not included.
You will have a limited time to eat and pick up luggage before transfer to the terminal.
Bus Nazca–Lima
At approximately 12:00 p.m., the transfer to the terminal of Cruz del Sur will be made.
Departure is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., in Evolution service, Comfort Suite or equivalent category available.
The official terminal of Cruz del Sur in Nazca is located on the corner of Lima and San Martín streets.
The arrival in Lima is estimated at approximately 8:05 p.m., at the Javier Prado terminal or at the terminal indicated on the ticket.
The schedule can change by transit, controls, road conditions or schedule of the bus company.
